Hello Mary,

I can no longer use my Olympus camera because of these Smart Media cards. The only option for me right now is to buy a new card but unfortunately no one seems to be selling these anymore.

Anyway, let’s get back to your problem. So first, What did you do when you inserted the card to your PC? Did you happen to format the card using Windows? If so, that’s a big problem. Olympus smart media cards aren’t suppose to be formatted other than using your D-360L because the codes written in it gets formatted/erased as well.

Another thing, Is the card still accessible using the computer and not in your camera? What does the computer say when you try opening the card? If it’s still accessible, I am guessing your camera is the problem, the card slot or the whole camera might need some cleaning in order for it to read your card properly.

i have a Olympus D-360L, I have two smart media cards for it. The other day i used both of them in Windows Vista pc, with out any problem. The next day i tried to use them again, one did nothing on the computer and the other i hadnt a problem with. I put the card that i had a problem with back in the Olympus D-360L camera. and it said card error. I have taken very good care of my smart cards. Is there any way i can get the data ( pictures) back from the smart media card that read card error. I have tried several programs from the internet about getting missing data back from the media card, but none of them did anything with the card.
Either the program didnt open and couldnt be used. or the program only got back the media that i had deleted on the computer and not the smart media card. Can you help me with this?
