Do you have an old iPod and the battery does not holding up that well? Or maybe you’re just looking for something to improve your new iPod’s battery life because you’re still not contented with its advertised 18 hour battery life?
I own a 60GB iPod Photo, I am not a fan of creating playlist so I do scroll and browse more often, especially when I transfer to different artists and albums. The fact is, when you scroll and browse more often, the battery consumes greater because the light and the load increases than the average use e.g. “continuous play mode”, don’t ask me how many percent but it does consume your battery more, lol.
So here’s how..
1) Connect your iPod to the computer with iTunes installed.
2) Select All the music in your iPod.
3) Right click and find volume adjustmen.
4) Drag the bar to the right to increase the volume.
5) Click okay.
6) Wait til’ the process is finished.
7) Remove the device properly by clicking the eject button found on the left side in iTunes.
The reason behind this is, you don’t have to use the iPod on full volume thereby lessens the iPod’s effort in giving you the loudest volume it could give. I have seen improvements with mine but I haven’t tried it on other iPod’s. There is no harm in testing, so it’s safe.
Here’s another tip, you can also choose to install lower bit rate music files in your iPod e.g. 64 or 128 kbps, I use 320 kbps because I am after the sound quality, but be reminded that if you do this, it will mean four things… One; you’ll get an average sound quality; two, a hushed or suppressed volume; three, better battery stamina if you don’t raise the volume too much and; four, more space for songs, yay!
Benefits of an energy efficient iPod
1) It extends your iPod’s life and its batteries.
2) You save more energy by not charging it more often.
3) More hours of music on-the-go than hours of charging.
4) You saved your world, big time!
